Kids & Family Dentistry
Kids’ dental care is free with us.*
Dr Alice believes that good oral health starts at a very young age, so we are fully committed to seeing children for free check-ups at Beech House * (when the parents/guardians are registered and regular patients).
As dental professionals, we believe in preventative dental care and encourage our patients to bring their children to the practice from an early age. Regular check-ups from a young age will ensure children don’t suffer from untreated dental decay with devastating effects on their growing dentition.
It is never too early to start a child’s dental journey.
We are making kids dentistry fun
Our focus for all patients is always that prevention is better than cure, and this is especially the case with children.
Creating excellent dental care habits early on is vital for lifelong healthy smiles. This is why our hygienists work with parents and children to provide interactive toothbrushing classes that instil excellent brushing techniques.Â
We have seen fantastic results from our young patients who have learnt to incorporate excellent dental health care between their appointments. This means they require less, if any, dental treatment other than maintenance through regular dental check-ups and hygiene appointments.Â
Of course, even with the most robust dental care regime, dental treatment is sometimes required.
For your peace of mind, we have an in-house dentist interested in paediatric dentistry, Dr Charlotte Farmer, who offers a wide range of expert services, as well as an onsite specialist orthodontist, to ensure your children’s dental care is always in the best hands.Â
Just like all of our patients, your children will benefit from their personalised patient journey. This is another way we make dental practice enjoyable for them early on. We’re proud to do things differently; if you like the sound of it, join us at Beech House Dental to discover how wonderful your dental experience can be.
Preventative treatments for children:
Fluoride Application
This safe and effective way helps to safeguard your child’s growing teeth from developing decay. The fluoride is painted onto the surface of the teeth, helping to remineralise and strengthen them.
Fissure Sealants
Tooth-coloured sealants are applied to the biting surfaces of children’s teeth, which is one of the most common areas tooth decay starts, to prevent decay.
Studies have shown that the younger your child is when attending their first dental appointment, even if just for a check-up, the more likely they are to have a positive experience and to grow up unafraid of the dentist. Our team will take special care of your child to make them feel safe and cared for.
Treating a child from a young age also allows the dentist to spot early signs of underbites, cross bites or overbites developing. As with most dental problems, the sooner you start treating them, the quicker they can be resolved.
Patients benefits:
- Healthy teeth and gums for life.
- Reduced risk of developing tooth decay and reduced need for fillings.
- No fears or phobias of the dentist.
- Early detection of dental issues that may require orthodontic correction (braces).
